Job Description

A public sector organisation based in the South East is looking for an Interim Health & Safety Advisor.

Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Health and Safety Advisor will be responsible for developing, implementing and reviewing all health and safety policies to ensure a safe and effective working environment.

Main responsibilities

  • Lead the Institutions Health and Safety review action plan
  • Carry out risk assessments (including fire risk assessments)
  • Compete RIDDOR reports and analyse all accidents
  • Deliver training to internal stakeholders
  • Carry out staff and contractor inductions

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, energetic and meticulous who excels in managing a process led Health & Safety regime within collaborative and collegial environments. In addition to a strong track record in monitoring, auditing and inspecting H&S standards; you will possess demonstrable experience in conveying creative solutions to a diverse range of stakeholders. You will be NEBOSH qualified with ideally professional membership of IOSH.

Strong communication skills with the ability to embed a culture of safety within an organisation through engaging and relevant training programmes is essential. This is an autonomous role that will provide the post holder with a supportive working environment.
