Job Description

Leeds Beckett University continues to be one of the UK's largest universities, in one of the UK's more popular student cities. We are proud of our award-winning estate and two impressive campuses, one in Leeds city centre and the other in Beckett Park, Headingley.

The Estates Services department are seeking to make the key appointment of a Programmer / Scheduler to manage the Estates' Capital Projects Master Programme; safeguarding its integrity, ensuring that all activities and milestones are logically linked and required resources aligned. With investment estimated at c. 200m during the next 5 years, this role will be critical to control and coordinate the various activities across numerous internal disciplines and external project teams.

Reporting to the Head of Projects, you will have an excellent understanding of RIBA stages and ensure that programme critical path is aligned with appropriate approval gateways and milestones. You will be expected to attend management, project and customer meetings to ensure that schedules are being maintained and updated, and assist the team to understand and accept scheduling concepts, tools and processes.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential as you will work with a diverse range of stakeholders both within and outside of the University, as is a good knowledge of different forms of contracts and contractual arrangements, and an excellent understanding of project management principles with construction / maintenance knowledge.
